Forest vs Malmö and memories of 1979. The two clubs have a historical link, also meeting in Forest's previous European adventure in the 1995-96 Uefa Cup, but it is the premier competition final 46 years ago that links these clubs, with the groundbreaking transfer Trevor Francis netting the decisive goal of a largely forgettable match to secure historic victory for the red half of Nottingham.

This match is a very different to that peak, closer perhaps to the Uefa Cup first-round tie between Forest and Malmö in that era. Forest are riding high after defeating Liverpool convincingly at the famous ground on Saturday, while Malmö have been inactive since last month following the end of the Swedish league season. The smart money is on the English side tonight.
